I want YOU! Yup, my finger is pointed at YOU!

When I first began photography I did it to be creative, to inspire, and to make a difference.

I realized I can make a difference by capturing someone's inner beauty.  For allowing them to believe, that in that moment {while I'm shooting} they are special.  Or maybe showing them something they didn't see in themselves.  One of my favorite moments during a shoot is when the subject goes from being scared and timid of the camera to relaxing and giving me poses for days!  I love seeing their confidence!

I have such a tug in my heart for teen girls.  I know it's not easy being a teenager - it's even tougher nowadays.  I started thinking... I wanted to plan a fun, fresh & sweet shoot.  I wanted to capture teen girls with beautiful hearts and smiles and make them feel special.

To ensure it's going to be extra special, I'm teaming up with my talented friends, Chenda & Vonn.  It will be a fun day of chatting, eating, hair, make up and of course photos :)

The Deets:
  • Looking for 4 girls, ages 14-17.  I'm not looking a flawless face, a certain height or body type... I'm looking for girls that will rock it in front of the camera and smile while doing so :)
    {There will be individual & group photos.}
  • The photoshoot will be in June.
  • Able to bring yourself to and from the shoot location.
  • Email your answer to the question below to darylove@gmail.com by Friday, May 18
  • Models will be chosen & notified the following week!

If you're interested, here's what you need to do {it's simple}...

What's your favorite quality about yourself and why?

{Preview} Colleen

It was a warm weekend and Colleen turned things up by being her fierce self.  I had the toughest time narrowing down which images to edit.  I wanted to edited them all... she is that good.  For now, I leave you with one smoking shot!  Which one do you like better?  Color or Black & White?

I told you she's fierce!  Go on with bad self, Colleen :)

{Baby} Ava Belen

My sweet friend, Elisa welcomed a beautiful baby girl to her family!  I finally got to meet Ava this past week and I'm so glad I brought my camera along.  I don't photography babies or shoot indoors but there was no pressure... I simply wanted to capture Ava's sweet face!

{Personal} My friends.

I've been so fortunate to have these beautiful ladies in my life.  Even more blessed to call them my friends!  They've given so much to me and helped shape the person I am.  From learning the importance of patience and forgiveness, pushing me to live my dreams and to not settle for anything less, being my support and backbone in life, to giving me confidence and for making me smile.  I love you girls like a fat kid loves cake.  Yup... it's that serious!

Here are some portraits I took of them at my birthday picnic :)

{Family} Adrianna, Ana, and Aaron

There I was, on the edge of my seat waiting for The New Kids on the Block to take the stage.  Um… hello, it was their first performance together in almost two decades.  It was kind of a big deal.  Danielle and Adrianna were sitting next to me.  It was easy to strike up a conversation.  “So… who’s your favorite New Kid?”
Danielle and I are closer in age but I clicked with Adrianna {the 13 year old}.  Between us dancing to Jesse McCartney, singing to every New Kids song, and running to Joey McIntyre… we had bonded!
Here’s to good times at the Dodge Theater!!

{Confession} Hello, nice to meet you!

The weather has been a dream lately!  The sun is warm & soft, the winds sweeps its presence over your body in the coolest form, the smell of bbq is in the air, and children are outside, running and using their imagination.  It's all great expect for one thing - ALLERGIES!  Darn you, allergies!

I tend to feel a little out of place when I see my clients.  They are always dressed so nice and look like perfection and then there's me... dressed in my poorest/mixed matched clothes {i get down on the ground a lot and somehow always end up in a bush}, my hair may or may not be done, makeup is not an option.  Between blowing my nose and the constant watery eyes... what's really the point?  As if that wasn't bad enough, throughout the session my appearance gets worse.  The lips are dry, the area between my nose and upper lip is tender with remnants of tissues.  And... that's why I'm behind the camera!

For my future clients, that's what you can expect from me.  I like to keep it real... no surprises!
